Touch a Truck
Hank Aaron Stadium – 755 Bolling Brothers Blvd., Mobile
March 10, 2018
10 AM – 2 PM
$20 per car
Family-friendly event that offers children a hands-on opportunity to explore a variety of trucks and meet the people who build, protect and serve our community. Benefits pediatric research at USA Mitchell Cancer Institute, and adoption at Adoption Rocks.

Living History Day
Historic Blakeley State Park
March 17, 2018
9 AM – 3 PM
Special day of living history and educational programming to commemorate the 153rd anniversary of the Battle of Fort Blakeley. Events will include Civil War artillery and rifle demonstrations, guided battlefield tours, and a lecture by noted historian Dr. Ben Severance.
$6 for adults; $4 for children ages 6-12

Coastal Bird Banding
Fort Morgan, Alabama
April 17-21, 2018
No charge to attend the bird banding, but an entrance fee is required to enter Fort Morgan park. All ages welcome. This event is open to the public. NGCHE will attend as a group, and all who are interested may join us. We will announce our exact date of attendance in mid April as this event is weather dependent. Ladies are invited to join NGCHE moms as we visit several of the best flea markets and upscale thrift stores in the Eastern Shore community of Baldwin County, Alabama. Third Public Dig of the Fall: December 16, 2017
George Shorter, RPA, Archaeologist, is the coordinator for the Old St. Stephens site. The public is welcome to join in the Saturday digs. Children may dig with their parents. No experience is required.  October’s planned excavations include the Globe/Chamberlain site and the Douglass Hotel.
